H. James Pfaeffle, M.D., Ph.D., studied mechanical engineering prior to entering medical school. He earned his medical degree and his doctorate in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Pfaeffle also completed his internship and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Pfaeffle completed a hand surgery fellowship at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he refined his skills in hand and upper extremity surgery and microsurgery.
